Shillong Peak

Just 10 kms from the city, Shillong Peak is the place where you can sit for hours to savour views of the city from a height of 1965 m. This is the highest point in Shillong. Shillong Peak lets you savour some unseen sights of the majestic Himalayan peaks and makes a great place for day picnics.

Umiam Lake

With verdant coniferous forests and East Khasi hills surrounding Umiam Lake from all sides, it makes a great place to relish nature. The lake is an extensive man-made water body sprinkled with few tiny islands. Close to the lake lies the Lum Nehru Park good for nature walks and picnic with kids.

Elephant Falls

Elephant Falls remain a must visit attraction in Shillong. This is a three-tier cascading waterfall which looks astonishing. The waterfall has been named after a huge rock placed close to it which looks like an elephant. However, the rock cannot be seen now as it was destructed due to an earthquake. Sit here and enjoy the beauty of dropping waterfall, surrounding thick vegetation, and pleasing climate.

Mary Help for Christian Cathedral

Mary Help for Christian Cathedral remains on the itinerary of every traveller visiting Sikkim. Its rising arches and stained glass windows look impressive. This pearly white edifice has a huge statue of Mother Mary which is worshipped by the visitors.

Ward�s Lake
